What is monostearate

polyoxyethylene monostearate is produced by the esterification of sorbitol with stearic acid. Sorbitan monostearate vega is a sugar alcohol that are commonly derived from corn and pototoes or the reduction of glucose. Stearic acid is highly available in nature. Stearic acid is found in both plants and animals, where it is more abundant in animal fat than in plant, vegetable fat.   WHAT IS HLB ? HLB value is the abbreviation for hydrophilic-lipophilic balance, it is the ratio between the hydrophilic portions and lipophilic portion of a surfactant.
